Plateau-Busting Series: Cumulative Stress Load
Most people fail to make progress because they are only targeting one aspect of their health and fitness, and do not take into consideration their cumulative stress load.
I’m talking more than “feeling stressed.”
I’m talking about the cumulative effects that stress has on your body, and its ability to adapt and progress.
As Per Our Norm, Let’s Hit The Basics:
This site is obviously geared towards Health and Fitness, and is the "work horse" of our Company. Everyone comes to us with different goals-many of which stretch beyond mere physical fitness. If that's you, or you were referred here from our Advanced Coaching Programs via the Transformation Gold Academy or its affiliates, remember to substitute your particular goals and situations in places where you see the words are exclusively physical fitness related.
MOVIN' ON...
* Around here, stress is a noun (throwback to 3rd grade English-where we learned that a noun is a person, place or thing.), Not A Feeling.
* Stress is short for “stressor.”
* A stressor is something that causes a series of physiologic reactions in your body (not just feelings) known as “The Stress Response.”
* Regardless Of The Cause, The Stress Response Exerts The Same Effects Throughout The Body.
* Lastly and more importantly, THE EFFECTS OF THE STRESS RESPONSE ARE CUMULATIVE.

It should come as no surprise that I personally do not believe in molly-coddling people. All of our Coaching and Training Programs are designed to develop the leader in you. That being said, you cannot operate as a heartless robot either. And we don't.
Around here, we are very clear on our teachings and expectations so that everyone we work with and do business with knows who we are, what we stand for and how we roll. Every day brings a new set of challenges, and we work tirelessly to demonstrate consistency and integrity to the best of our ability with everything we commit ourselves to doing.
Part of our jobs as Coaches are to meet people where they are and grow them. Today, there is such a wide sampling of people and their ability to navigate stress (situational, environmental, chemical load, physical, etc) and triumph over it.
We have a wide spectrum between people who fall into the the "suck it up, Buttercup" types and those people who are products of "let me give you a hug and tell you how wonderful you are" environments.
At the end of the day, every person requires knowledge and skillsets to navigate through an acutely stressful time, or rise above the cumulative effects of chronic stress load-whether that comes from:
* Working in noisy and/or highly energized/polarized environments (lights and sirens; kickback from vibrational power tools, sales environments, health care, child care, entertainment, etc.)
* Chemical burden from the environment or water supply; drugs of any kind, supplements and food additives; fear, anger, resentment, guilt, and shame
* Chronic deprivation diets and/or physical training without adequate nutritional support
* Chronic sleep deprivation and/or interrupted sleep habits
* Negative, disempowering environments and affiliations
Regardless of an individual's ability to navigate, challenge and mitigate stressors, my job is to assist you in busting through your plateau. I am a Muscular DeVelopment coach with a serious background in human physiology. I clearly see things an athlete may not-especially as it pertains to how a plateau can come about from the effects that cumulative stress plays on your adrenals.
When I-or any of my Coaches or Trainers work with you-we work with you as an ENTIRE PERSON. That includes learning your values, your goals, how you spend your time and your cumulative stress load.
We do a heavy amount of work on the front end learning these things so that we can customize a workable plan for you to implement immediately, one that yields phenomenal results despite your harried lifestyle.
We also spend a lot of time managing your expectations of what results will show up and when-especially when it comes to aesthetics.
Sounds funny (and obvious) when you say it, but We are a Wellness Company committed to your wellness. We value your overall physical, mental and spiritual wellness over aesthetics every day.
But let me call attention to the elephant in the room and put it straight out there that I am also very acutely aware of the fact that all of us have aesthetic goals. I don’t care, anyone who says something to the contrary is full of it. We all know your physical appearance should never determine your worth, self-valuation or confidence-this is not about that.
I know people and I know my Industry.
Let's face it: When you look better, you feel better.
Everyone carries themselves differently when they're pleased with their physical appearance. I hold that truth to be self-evident. And in the words of Forrest Gump, “That's all I have to say about that.”
Here’s what you need to know as it pertains to plateaus: Failure to progress aesthetically (provided you're actually doing the work) can come about from excessive stress load and/or placing the aesthetic goal as the lead runner in front of health, overall athleticism or any other goal in life.
Leading with aesthetics yields a short term result with habits and practices that are incompatible with Having A Life. An aesthetic goal is rarely enough to keep a person engaged for the long haul, and/or leads to a form of idolatry making everything and everyone else in your life obsolete.
Here's the thing: Most of our people have experienced that trail of events to one degree or another.
That is to say, when people come to us, this isn't their first Rodeo. They've have vacillated back and forth on their habits and disciplines, yo-yo dieted up and down and are LEGIT f-ing frustrated with their own perceived lack of discipline in following a lifestyle chasing aesthetics. It's at this point that our peeps recognize they've plateaued in aesthetics, performance, and also in tactical know-how. This is when we're sought out for our expertise in plateau-busting.
The entry point for any person we potentially work with is a Fitness Consultation. When we sit with you for that Consultation, we are there to have an intelligent conversation WITH you, learn as much as we can about what has you in your current situation, and provide you with options on your next steps towards reaching your goals.
For example, we look at your Nutrition, and put it into the context of your life as it stands now. What are your work hours? When do you train? What supplements and meds do you take? How many hours of uninterrupted sleep do you get a night?
We also teach you bit about how the body works and how food works in it so that you understand why you're getting the results you're getting, rather than the results you want.
However, we do not take on every Client we consult with. We only work with The Coachable and The Committed.
Any individual who demonstrates even a glimmer of an uncoachable spirit is not granted the opportunity to move forward with our Coaches, Trainers or Consultants. Before you get your undies in a bunch, we offer Products and Services to assist these individuals on their journey and develop that Coachable spirit (On-Demand programs, seminar-style trainings where they can become immersed in the right environment) -with the intention the individual will indeed grow and revisit with us the possibility of a working relationship.
Because we do such a thorough job in Qualifying the Client during the assessment and consultative phase, we are able to streamline a workable Nutrition Plan for adrenal support with concomitant reduction and removal of overall stress burden.
Some of our lifestyle recommendations to achieve this include:
* Decreasing EMF exposure
* Identifying food sensitivities
* Reducing chemical load
* Allotment of time for adrenergic receptor clearance
Nutritionally, we a structure a plan to blast through your current rut (which always involves adrenal taxation) and combine it with Champion Mindset Coaching for permanent lifestyle change.
Some of our Nutritional recommendations include increasing:
* Vitamin C and overall antioxidant intake
* Free water, protein, fiber and EFA consumption
* Meal frequency
While everyone wants aesthetics to be the first sign of change, it doesn't happen that way. Our work to bust your plateau by decreasing cumulative stress load allows your body to "wake up."
It's actually a healing process. And what you need to know is that the body heals from the inside out, from top to bottom and in the REVERSE order of whatever problem showed up. For those who work with us directly, and have plateaued from adrenal taxation and cumulative stress load, the very first result that everyone gets is an increase in energy.
The second is some degree of weight loss (which is not necessarily fat), as evidenced by loss of pounds on a scale or their clothes fitting looser.
The awesome thing is that it's very simple to progress after this, because you've gotten a 2-fer: More energy and a huge momentum spark because you see and feel results.
Now we can go to work, because it's much easier to steer momentum than it is to generate it. Now we have a Client who is even more motivated and Coachable, and is ready to go next level with habits and disciplines WITHOUT our prompting them.
Every single person-even if they started out with years of living on a plateau-becomes a QUICK ADAPTOR, a MASSIVE ACTION TAKER, and a HIGH-LEVEL PRODUCER, because they're excited about their Gainz.
IT'S AWESOME AND I GET GOOSEBUMPS EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT IT.
We're at the end of our Plateau-Busting Series, and I'm off to go put in work in busting my own. I leave you with this:
If you've reached a point where enough is enough-
Where you're spinning your wheels and can't take it anymore-
Where you're fed up with being frustrated, disappointed and not getting the results you want, and are SERIOUS about busting your plateau, your next step is to schedule a ___FITNESS__CONSULTATION___ with me.
