Do I Need To Hustle Harder?

I'm about to throw down some Saturday Straight Talk Style-Coaching on this post, are you ready?

These days, "hustle" has become a sexy and cliche word.

I don't know what your definition of "hustle" is, but I'll tell you one thing:

YOU'RE NOT ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTION.

Say What?

I know that wasn't the answer you expected, much less wanted.  And you may even be kind of annoyed right now.

Here's what I will tell you: IF YOU WANT TO GET THE RIGHT ANSWER, YOU HAVE TO BE SURE YOU'RE ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTION.

Your question, "Do I need to hustle harder?" is not the question that will get you the answer that you are truly seeking.

Track with me for a second...and ask your question again.

You:  "Do I need to hustle harder?"

Me:  "Are you satisfied with the results you've achieved in the timeframe you've been at it?

Obviously, you wouldn't have asked the question if you were satisfied with your results.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO:

You've determined that your current actions are not yielding the results you want.  THAT'S THE STARTING POINT.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

RESULTS ARE NOT ONE-DIMENSIONAL.  Results come from a lot of daily disciplines performed consistently over time.

The REAL QUESTION to the answer you're seeking is:

Am I Productive Or Merely Spinning My Wheels By Being Busy?

There's a HUGE difference between the two.

Being busy is deceptive because it's often rewarded with sympathy AND you really feel like you're doing a lot--but when you really get down to it,  being  busy often  wastes your most precious commodities:  time, energy and money.

PRODUCTIVITY ON THE OTHER HAND, YIELDS RESULTS.

So to break this down for you, the first two questions you SHOULD be asking yourself are:

a) Am I getting results, and

b) Am I allowing enough time to achieve the results I desire?

It's  really that black and white.

Clarity and honesty with those two THEN allows you discern if there's a problem, or if you can progress to the next level  questions, such as:

How am I running my 24?

How can I maximize my results through system development, networking, partnerships and teamwork?

See the difference?
