How To Power Through Nutritional Cleanup Without Obsessing About What You Have To Give Up

This post kind of reminds me of, "Everything I needed to know about life I learned in Kindergarten."

Only it's about nutrition.  And it's probably more along the lines of a first-grade type of thing.

Maybe it's not as similar as I thought...oh well.

ANYWAY-WHEN IT COMES TO CLEANING UP YOUR NUTRITION, ADD BEFORE YOU SUBTRACT.

What?

A lot of people get all worried when they decide to clean up their daily nutrition because they focus on what they have to give up.

Now you might be expecting a post about gratitude or simply training yourself to focus on what you have to gain by eating a certain way, etc.

SMH.  No.  At least not today.

Here's what I've learned:

1) It doesn't matter how many people I consult, every single one of them is lacking nutrients in their diet-EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH CALORIES.

2) AND, every single one of these people has an aesthetic goal which requires them to release body fat.

3) Lastly, every single one of these people has been on some sort of a "diet" before coming to me and has rebounded.

I've never met one single person who did not know that the cookies, beer and pizza consumed daily were NOT going to take them to their promised land.  THOSE THINGS WOULD HAVE TO GO.

But what is it about cutting out those food items which put everyone into a panic?

I ask that tongue in cheek, because that's not the point of this post.

This post is geared to help you power through the initial phases of Nutritional Cleanup and keep you going strong for eternity.

The Recommendation Is:  ADD BEFORE YOU SUBTRACT.

MEANING:  Add in good stuff BEFORE you start pulling things out.

Add veggies.

Add lean protein.

Add water (BTW:  ice cubes in your mixed drink or fountain beverage don't count.  Neither does coffee or tea.).

It's gonna start to train your palate to the new foods, and fill you up and at the same time.  What ends up happening, is that you automatically start "weeding out" the pizza, the beer, the chips, the cookies...without any resistance.

It's so easy, and you really don't suffer those crazy food cravings like you get when you suddenly go cold-turkey and pull all that other stuff out of your daily diet.

That's literally it.

The End.
