Saturday Straight Talk: Luck
Welcome to Saturday Straight Talk. Today's Topic Is LUCK.
A lot of people sit on the sidelines and watch others do the things they want to do or get the things they want to have and call them "lucky."
Don't be fooled.
LUCK IS WHEN PREPARATION MEETS OPPORTUNITY.
Yes, there are people who are extraordinarily gifted and have natural talent. There are people who always seem to "walk into" great opportunities.
But at the end of the day, a Champion puts in work to capitalize on their gifts, talents and opportunities. THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF WORK.
While everyone else is out on Saturday Night, a Champion is preparing themselves.
While everyone else is pressing snooze and sleeping in, a Champion is up putting in work.
While everyone else is making excuses, a Champion is making a way to get $#!+ done.
You see, Champions do not sit around waiting for an opportunity to fall out of the sky before getting ready.
Champions take it upon themselves to create their own opportunities, and to get ready and stay ready IN ANTICIPATION of the opportunity.
They don't talk about it. They do it.
They're willing to go through any pain, any discomfort, any sacrifice, any length of time, any criticism, any failed attempt, any challenge to reach their goal.
And the whole time they work in silence-keeping their nose to the grindstone practicing and perfecting their craft. Over and over and over.
By the time they "show up" at any given opportunity, they come in like a tsunami and blow everybody else out of the water. That's when everyone takes notice and says, "s/he is so lucky."
Luck schmuck.
It's straight up discipline and work WITHOUT anyone telling them to do it.
Even on days when they'd rather stay home and bake cookies. Even when they'd rather not do that last rep. Even when they'd rather scroll through social media, or chill.
You see, The Champion is wired differently.
It's not that the Champion is competitive. The one thing you need to understand about the Mindset of a Champion is that a Champion does not train to compete.
A CHAMPION TRAINS TO DOMINATE THEIR SPACE.
To be The Best. Period. End of Story.
There is no convincing them of anything else. And anyone who tries to talk them out of it, tell them that their goal is impossible, or provide any other form of unsolicited "constructive" or outright criticism is held to the sidelines.
Why?
Because a Champion does not concern themselves with anyone or anything that wastes their time, energy, or remotely detracts from their goal. To some it may seem harsh, but to a Champion-it's called laser focus and it's necessary.
It's that level of intensity; that willingness to sacrifice, endure pain and do whatever it takes every single day to EARN a Champion's "luck."
STRAIGHT TALK FROM YOUR COACH: Luck is a fallacy. At The End Of The Day, You Can Either Have What You Want, Or The Reasons Why You Don't. You are 100% in the Driver's Seat and have the power to choose where you steer your own vehicle.
The question is, "Have you prepared for your opportunity?"
Hustle while they party. Grind while they sleep. Success requires no explanation. Put your nose to the grindstone and get $#!+ done.
Make it a powerful week! Catch you on our next call!
