Strength Is Generated From Your Core
Have you ever seen amazing athleticism of balance and control and just stood there in awe?
They completely defy the laws of gravity, hold themselves in inversions or suspensions, or seemingly "float" from one piece of equipment to another AND MAKE IT LOOK EASY! How do they do that?
Obviously, it's hours of practice and BRUTE CORE STRENGTH.
We all know the Importance of Core Strength, but is your core as strong as you'd like to think it is, or does it just LOOK strong?
There's a difference between having a 6-pack and having Core Strength.
In the setting of Core Muscle Weakness, accessory muscles all over your body will kick in and shoulder the load. But let's face it: that's a sweet ride to coast along until it eventually comes to bite you in the culo.
Your Core is your foundation upon which you build yourself. It is what allows you to shoulder your load capacity, plays a vital role in keeping you injury-free, and in the setting of an unexpected (and certainly unwelcome) injury, a strong core facilitates a speedy recovery.
So how do we get that type of strength?
Through INTENTIONAL TARGETED TRAINING, training dominant/overpowering muscle groups (particularly your upper traps) into proper submission, establishing/optimizing mind-muscle connection to recruit underperforming muscles and train new movement patterns. This, of course, must be used in conjunction with a consistent and appropriate mobility/flexibility program.
