The Iron Is Always There
Can we agree that life packs a mean roundhouse? And if left to its own devices will continue to kick the snot out of you unless you fight back?
One of the reasons why I am so emphatic about weight training for men and women is that it makes you a force to be reckoned with.
It builds your mental tenacity and makes your body strong as all get out.
The Health Care Provider in me has always embraced weight training because it's awesome for you for the long haul. It wards off the progressive effects of aging, combats osteoporosis, and other ridiculous diseases. It keeps you producing hormones (can we say TESTOSTERONE, men?) and keeps your fat stores at bay. And in the event of an untoward illness or injury, having a foundation of strong musculature helps you recover quicker and prevents the complications of immobility (which is what actually kills most people) such as pneumonia and blood clots.
The Woman in me is gonna tell you straight up-training under the iron keeps you fresh, agile and looking (AND FEELING!) sexy as hell!
But the Warrior in me is here to tell you...there's gonna come a time in your life when you're gonna NEED IT.
When you lose your job, your income, your home, your "friends," and you're LITERALLY down to nothing--The Iron Is Always There, It's Always The Same, And It Can Always Be Counted On.
When nothing seems to be going right, and every time you look up, you're losing.
THE IRON IS ALWAYS THERE-waiting for you to pick that $#!+ up and move it. It's there for you as a comrade of strength and power. It's the safe place where you can have GUARANTEED VICTORIES and walk away with your head held high, knowing that you CRUSHED IT IN THE FACE OF YOUR ADVERSITY.
Bodybuilder or not...The Iron Becomes A Part Of You, AND IT BUILDS YOU FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
Voluntarily going to a place where you KNOW you're going to be met with resistance; a place where THE EXPECTATION is for you lock in, face the beast and MOVE IT, sets the template for your life.
It's the same formula you use when you're at your low points; when you're fearful; when you're embarking on a new endeavor or paving a new pathway: Face the Beast and Move It. Period.
I encourage you to place yourself on the path towards victory in life; and seek out the iron. It's always there, and it will build you into the Champion you were born to be.
