Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life
When I started blogging, I came up with a schedule-Monday Mo'DeVation, Tuesday Training Tips, Saturday Straight Talk, etc. It worked for a short while, but sometimes I find it to be so restrictive and NOT reflective of who I am or how my brain works.
So I am going off the well-worn path and opening up more of how I think, how I coach myself, and allow you to see a bit more into the overstuffed, hyperdrive recesses of my mind.
You've received fair warning. Now's your last chance to leave before I throw down some RIDICULOUS quantum physics, mixed with faith to give you today's Champion Mindset Coaching.
Let's do it, to it, shall we?
Thoughts are things. How do I know?
Well...in order to answer that, we have to go on a little tour.
A quick little neuroendocrine tour, and while we're at it, we're gonna throw in some good ol' High School Science for good measure.
OK! OK! OK! Before you roll your eyes, this is totally legit, and I promise it'll be painless.
In all seriousness, thoughts are the result of chemical reactions taking place in your body.
And what's needed for a chemical reaction to occur? Energy.
Throw back to some High School Science...energy cannot be created or destroyed; it merely changes form.
Now, since energy can neither be created or destroyed, when you have a thought, it comes about from some kind of transference of energy.
The next thing to remember is a little something from Chemistry Class: Energy has mass. How do I know? Look at the periodic table of elements. Each element has an atomic weight; therefore it occupies space.
We also know that two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
Therefore, since thoughts are things, aka objects-two thoughts cannot occupy the same space in your mind at the same time.
For example, a positive and a negative thought cannot occupy your brain at the same time. It's either one or the other.
Similarly, faith and fear cannot exist at the same time-it's either one or the other.
Now since we know that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV) it doesn't make logical sense for us to be afraid. In fact, we are commanded NOT to be afraid.
Unfortunately, we are human, not robots, and fear can be a natural response to uncertainty, if that is how we have learned to be.
We are only born with 1 fear: the fear of loud noises. Every other fear has been learned.
Here's a cool tool you can use when you are feeling afraid to step you back up into your power by calming your spirit and sharpening your mind.
1) Know that God is on your side. Arm yourself with a Bible verse that empowers you. One of my favorites is, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13 NKJV)
2) Know that the opposite of fear is love. You have the mental power to pivot turn your energy and funnel fear energy into power. The next time you feel that fear energy creeping up on you, acknowledge its presence. But then, picture it being a tenant in a building you own. Fear energy is like a squatter. It takes up residence without permission, doesn't pay you rent, and COSTS you a ton, because it depletes your most precious resources: time, energy and peace of mind. THAT IS TOO COSTLY. Therefore, it cannot stay.
As with all of our Champion Mindset Trainings, it's up to you to assume 100% responsibility for the choices you make. Your thoughts, your beliefs, your actions-they're all choices.
If you want something you've never had before, you've got to do something you've never done before. Change your thoughts; change your life.
