Your Health Is The Vehicle For Your Life

When I work IN my business, I consider myself to be a Muscular DeVelopment Coach.

When I work ON my business, I hold Muscular DeVelopment as our Strategy for Total Wellness.

Muscular DeVelopment is NOT about turning you into a bodybuilder.

Muscular DeVelopment is the umbrella under which all athletic goals stem.

Speed, strength, agility, explosivity, endurance, flexibility...it all comes from muscles.

It just so happens that the aesthetic portion of a physique-acquisition of muscle mass and what people refer to as "toned" also comes from Muscular DeVelopment.

Muscular DeVelopment is more than the physical training aspect.

Muscles are living, breathing things.  To grow, get stronger and/or function at a higher level, muscles require resources.  They require oxygen, energy, and nutrients among other things to be delivered TO them, and have all of the waste and byproducts of metabolism to be taken AWAY from them.

Muscular DeVelopment incorporates 3 dimensions:  Physical Training, Nutrition and Recovery.

Personally, I quantify Muscular DeVelopment as a Coaching Perspective.

So what exactly does this mean?

I am not a trainer.  I am a Muscular DeVelopment Coach.

No disrespect to any of my peers-but it's true.  I've never taken a Personal Training Exam.

I am a Registered Nurse.  RETIRED, but a Registered Nurse nonethless.  My specialties include Emergency, Critical and Trauma Care of all people of all ages.  No matter what's wrong with them.  No matter how many things are wrong with them...I'm trained and ready to respond to all sorts of serious conundrums with the full intent and capabilities of making you BETTER.

You can probably imagine I've seen my share of "stuff."  I consider it an honor and a privilege to have served others in what was usually the WORST moment/s of their lives.  It was also very exciting to see miraculous turnarounds.   But there was always these two nagging little voices inside of me.  One that was always disappointed with the current state of affairs, and the other which told me I could do more.  I started resenting my role and began calling myself Band-Aid Girl (literally and figuratively) because I always saw people "after"

After their heart attack.

After their 2nd cardiac bypass surgery.

After their kidneys shut down from uncontrolled diabetes.

After-after-after.

And while the interventions and care we provided impacted a lot of people, it was like putting a Band-Aid on a wound that would soon open again.  Granted, I worked in a socioeconomically dampened community, where Primary Preventative Health Care was not a priority, but looking on a more global scale, the state of unhealthiness in our younger generations kept me awake at night.

I always felt like we needed more on the Wellness and Prevention side of things.  So, I quit my job in 2014 and went to work on building a full-service Wellness Company.  One whose central philosophy centers around Muscular DeVelopment.

We hold Muscular DeVelopment as the primary means of illness and injury PREVENTION, AND utilize it as the means to assist others RECOVER from illness and injuries.

Now that may sound crazy (welcome to the inner recesses of my mind!  lol), but here's what I know:

Never in my 20+ years of Clinical Bedside Nursing did I ever see someone die from a broken hip or arm.

They died from the COMPLICATIONS of immobility following those injuries-infections and blood clots-because they were too weak and deconditioned to be able to move about or exercise aggressive pulmonary toiletry after their injury.

Catch that?  They were WEAK-not just because of the illness or injury.  Their BASELINE was weak.  They had no strength or muscle to begin with, and as the injury/illness evolved they were toast because they started out with no reserve.

And that wasn't just the elderly ladies with osteoporosis.

I saw it in individuals WAY younger, too.  As I started paying very close attention to the trends of physical health and fitness within our country, it became clear to me that we needed a place which actually centered around HEALTH, rather than SICKNESS.  One whose primary mission is to INCREASE your potential, not just keep you alive.

I've pulled all of my science and physiology geekdom acquired over the past 20+ years, drawn on my bodybuilding and nutrition experience from working with the greatest coaches as an athlete and Figure Competitor, and developed my own coaching methodologies to help people bust through plateaus.

When I look at you, I literally view you through a telescopic lens:  I see you as the whole organism, and also as a bunch of atoms working collectively. (You heard it here first-there's no denying the truth!  lol  Yes-it's very loud at times inside my head.  Most people think I'm mad (I have RBF) but in reality, I'm usually thinking about crazy $#!+ like actin & myosin, the Nervous System, the Sodium-Potassium Pump and electrons!  Moving on...)

Your Health Is The Vehicle For Your Life, and I care about your Wellness:  Body Mind and Spirit.  That is why my Company exists, why we have developed a Culture of Excellence, why we hold the Values which we do, and why we do things the way we do.
